Monitoring and early warning systems

Would you know quickly if something was wrong?

Background

Many SMEs only discover problems after customers complain or data has already gone. Average detection time across all sectors is measured in weeks, sometimes months — mostly because nobody's reading the right logs.

Questions to ask yourself

  • Are systems monitored — and is anyone watching?
  • Are backup failures actually noticed?
  • Are login attacks detected?
  • Are domain renewals, certificates, and storage limits tracked?
  • Who acts on alerts out of hours?
